The analyst will be responsible for providing system and process support to primarily the Accounting Department with ancillary support to Treasury and Tax areas. It includes serving as a subject matter expert for existing SAP modules and providing first level analytical support beyond the SAP Super Users. Various interactions with Business Unit and acting as a liaison between various Madrid Head Office support teams and local accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Department Heads and SAP end users to identify business needs/process issues and develop detailed, prioritized, baseline business requirement to assist in solution determination.
  • Provide evaluations on business/process issues and changes, including: quantitative, qualitative, root cause and other relevant considerations.
  • Act as the key interface for Finance with external SAP consultants, escalating all complex SAP business issues.
  • Assess the effectiveness of implemented SAP business solutions through post implementation reviews and process review cycles.
  • Execute test arrangements for SAP upgrades, new releases, configuration and programming changes to include unit, integration, regression, interface and user acceptance testing.
  • Support the project implementations of new SAP application/solutions.
  • Lead monthly knowledge sessions to educate Super Users about SAP applications available.
  • Ensure SAP users are on-boarded and trained in support processes.
  • Archive and maintain all SAP business processes.
  • Conduct all other related research and analysis work as may be required.
  • Ad-hoc reporting, analysis and query handling.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US for and US employer.
  • 3+ years of experience working in an SAP accounting support role with modules FI/CO, MM, SD, etc..
  • Experience in Treasury module such as Lockbox processing, Liquidity forecast, Cash Management, and Integration of FI with other modules (MM and SD).
  • Advanced Microsoft experience; especially with Excel and Visio.
  • Real Integration knowledge of FI with MM and SD with Procure to Pay and Order to cash cycles.
  • Worked with Legacy System Migration workbench tool (LSMW) for importing data from legacy system to SAP R/3
  • Involved in setting up Closing cock-pit functionality to take care of month closing processes. Worked on scheduling strategy for month end processes relating to FI, SD, MM and CO.
  • Configured Lockbox Application conforming to BAI2/MT940 formats and customized Cash Management, including Bank statements, Re-designed all SAP roles and implemented a common security policy for all SAP landscapes.
  • Exposure/Experience to the FICO and JVA Customizing also an asset.
  • Experience in Workflow Design, development and implementation.¨ Hands on experience in Workflow Triggering through Function Modules.¨ Used Deadline Monitoring in different workflow scenarios. Workflow Error handling and workflow logs
  • Strong technical and procedural knowledge of monthly and yearly closing processes and procedures on SAP R/3 (JVA/non JVA companies) and consolidation systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP ABAP programming and other SAP programing would be a strong asset.

 

Key Competencies/Preferred Experience

  • Strong functional experience in the modules of AP, AR, AM, TR, CO, JVA and Timesheet is desired.
  • Functional experience in the modules of PS, MM and SAP Security Administration (SOX and SOD) would be an asset.
  • Customized bank related accounting, bank master data, house banks and G/L accounts in different currencies for each bank account and Electronic Bank Statement (EBS).
  • Sound knowledge of configuring taxes for tax procedures TAXUSJ and TAXUSX.
  • Experience in operating in the SAP QA, Development and Production environments would be an asset.
  • Experience with ETRM systems such as Allegro and ENDUR and it interfaces to SAP would be an asset.
  • Experience and/or exposure to SQL would be an asset and fully functional in the Microsoft suite is required.
  • Accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or 1 year relevant accounting experience.
  • Analytical skills and systems thinking approach to issue analysis.
