The Revenue Accounting team is responsible for facilitating communication between external parties, USBU leaders and Marketing Accounting for the accounting of all production, royalty, regulatory and revenue activities related to natural gas, Y-grade liquids, purity NGL’s and condensate.


In addition, Revenue Accounting ensures that internal controls are adhered to when addressing related audit, regulatory and compliance tasks. Revenue Accounting is a very critical component of the organization and entails considerable interaction with various layers of the organization and external parties.   The Revenue Accounting Supervisor is responsible for presentations and other materials which must be presented to management with respect to fluctuations in revenue, production volumes and royalties which are key components of the overall cash flow analysis.   This high profile role requires strong inter-personal communication skills, attention to detail, 15+ years of related experience, 7+ years leading and leveraging team resources.


  • Direct responsibility for the revenue accounting staff which includes performance evaluations, development planning, and work load distribution.
  • Review and approve allocations of all production volumes, pipeline volumes, plant statements and sales for all products: NGL, Oil, and Residue Gas.
  • Review and approve month end revenue distribution process and analyze results.
  • Review and approve the regulatory filings for severance tax and GLO reporting.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis to provide supporting documentation for financial results package. Support executive level reviews of property results versus budgets and accruals.
  • Oversee and manage the distribution of revenues and royalties for Eagle Ford asset.
  • Approve journal vouchers monthly for revenue, royalties, production, sales, and month-end close.
  • Manage monthly revenue, royalty and volume accrual process.
  • Oversee US royalty process ensuring all royalties are paid on time in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Working closely with the Marketing Accounting Supervisor reconcile any volume or value variances that may occur between the two teams.
  • Manage relationships and work closely with Division Order team.
  • Liaison with Delivery Units and Commercial Groups regarding monthly accruals and reforecasts.
  • Ensure that monthly, quarterly and year end close processes are followed including related account reconciliations and entries to the general ledger.
  • Review general ledger account reconciliations monthly and ensure internal and SOX controls compliance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit requests.
  • Communicates with internal and external auditors providing requested support documentation of controls and performing required control walkthroughs.
  • Provide recommendations and implementation plans for improvement in processes to enable efficient means of accomplishing tasks, and ensuring the safeguarding of assets.
  • Provide support for other functional groups with a goal of continuous improvement in business processes and reporting.
  • Perform special and ad hoc projects and other job related duties as necessary.
  • Supervisor / manage staff including individual and departmental goal setting, career development, performance tracking and evaluations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • 15+ years of Production, Revenue and Royalty Accounting experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • 7+ years of leadership responsibilities.
  • Working level proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups)
  • Strong financial accounting skills including hands on experience with general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable and account reconciliations.  
  • Experience with SAP and Production Revenue accounting systems (Waterfield Energy and Energy Components software preferred).
  • Ability to communicate well and establish effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to research and prepare analysis to respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with an ability to explain complex concepts and financial accounting treatment to senior management.
  • Ability to multi-task several assignments simultaneously and establish job priorities.
  • Initiative to consistently meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Team player and openly collaborative.
  • Attention to detailed combined with an inquisitive mindset.
